The Numbers You Need to Know: History

Tempus fugit. Time flies. A statement like this first appeared in Virgil’s Georgics but it can be traced to Shakespeare’s “the swiftest hours, how they flew” and Alexander Pope “swift fly the years.” Nathaniel Hawthorne took it one step further with “time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind” and that’s where I start today.

Twenty-seven years ago today, CIMx was founded by a small group of dedicated people that believed it was possible to put technology into manufacturing to make it better and we’re still at it. There are just a few (less than 5 fingers of) companies that exist today that were there back then and that’s something. In fact, on the surface, I can only think of one other. Everyone else has been consumed by somebody, gone out of business, or exploded / imploded in some form of digital or economic crises. And yes, we rescued a few of those projects over the years.

WHY WE'RE HERE

Almost three decades later, we’re still here to serve you, the manufacturing community. We’re here to help you, to make things better, to make you more productive, efficient, and profitable. We’re here – and we always have been – because we’re problem solvers.

WHO WE ARE

We are an amalgamation of all the people that have worked for and with us. I learned a long time ago that culture is not what you want it to be. It’s what you allow it to be. You hire people that you believe will sustain or improve the culture you have and desire but the minute they come on board, it’s up to them as to how they will change it and you for what you’ll allow. You take on and keep customers that do the same – improve or sustain the working relationship you wish to have.

We love where we work and what we do. So today, in brief, we want to say thank you to all those of you who purchased our products and services, partnered with us, worked for us, and sustained us through the years. You have helped to make us what we are today and every day on forward. This year is one of huge change for us and we look forward to sharing it with you.
